Unleash Your Beautiful { body image campaign 2011 }

Something we are very passionate about is body image. Although we are mainly concentrate on women’s bodies, we are also very aware that man also at times struggle with body image due to social expectations.

As part of our plan to help change perceptions on what a ‘normal’ body is ‘suppose‘ to look like, we intend on creating a number of images over a 12 month period to really promote healthy bodies and the fact that we really are all different. 

To help and really accentuate the different body shapes, we have decided to body paint all of the women who participate in the images. Body Paint artist Vanessa Hornett & Principal photographer Amanda Taylor of Popeto Portrait Studio, are only delighted to work together on this project to really help women realise their beauty.

{BODY IMAGE is EVERYTHING }

This would be fantastic, if Body Image was EVERYTHING POSITIVE!

To celebrate the recent INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY, Popeto Portaits wants to celebrate being a WOMAN on all levels, including our BODIES!

For reasons unknown to me, as a culture woman have managed to achieve great heights within our modern world, however struggle to believe that their inner and out beauty is worthy.

I am confident in saying that before every photoshoot I do of a woman, in particularly boudoir/glamour type photography, I will have this absolutly gorgeous woman standing in front of me done up to the nines, insisting she self savatages the way she looks. From her eyes, to legs, to weight. There is ALWAYS something and that makes me sad!

No big words for it, just really sad!

What has happened in our society to make us think we aren’t perfect in our own way. Just really sad.

I realise we probably won’t – not can’t – be able to change everyones mind set on body issues but we are sure going to try.

So! Together with Vanessa Hornett from Funky Face n Body Painting, Popeto Portraits wants to put together a shoot (taking inspiration from this outstanding image ‘Back Catalouge’ poster taken for Pink Floyd in 1996) but using SIX completely different BODY TYPES!

There is no right or wrong body size or shape; ideally we want to accentuate small, tall, tiny, large and everything in between. We don’t want to offend anyone, rather make EVERY WOMAN PROUD!

So if you are a CONFIDENT woman aged between 18yrs – 100+yrs, we would love you to be part of it.
